Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our silk bedding. Silky U provides a voluntary warranty covering eligible manufacturing defects, in addition to the rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty periods

Our warranty periods begin on the original purchase date:

  • Silk quilts — three years
  • All other eligible Silky U products — one year

The one-year warranty includes silk bedding sets, quilt covers, fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases and eye masks.

Gift recipients may make a warranty claim if they can provide the original order number or another acceptable form of proof of purchase.

What the warranty covers

The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship that become apparent during the applicable warranty period.

Depending on the product, covered defects may include:

  • Stitching or seams coming apart because of a manufacturing fault
  • Faulty zippers, ties, loops or other fastenings
  • Defects in the silk filling, silk fabric or outer cover materials
  • Fraying or tearing confirmed to have resulted from a manufacturing defect

We may need to inspect the product before determining whether the issue is covered.

What the warranty does not cover

The voluntary Silky U warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear or the natural ageing of materials
  • Accidental damage, snagging or damage caused by misuse or mishandling
  • Damage caused by washing, drying, ironing, storing or caring for the product contrary to its care instructions
  • Damage caused by high temperatures, bleach, harsh chemicals or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
  • Damage caused by alterations or repairs performed by someone other than Silky U or an authorised service provider
  • Minor variations in colour, texture or weave that are characteristic of natural silk and do not affect the product's intended use
  • Change-of-mind or incorrect-purchase returns, which are covered separately by our Returns & Refunds policy

These exclusions apply to Silky U's voluntary warranty and do not exclude or restrict any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.

How to make a warranty claim

To make a claim, email info@silkyu.au and include:

  • Your name and order number or other proof of purchase
  • The product affected
  • A description of the problem and when you first noticed it
  • Clear photographs showing the affected area
  • Any other information reasonably required to assess the claim

Please contact us before returning a product. We will provide return instructions and, where required, a prepaid postage label.

Original product packaging is not required for a warranty claim, but you must package the product securely if you need to return it.

Assessment and remedies

We may ask you to return the product so we can inspect and assess the reported problem.

If the claim is approved under the Silky U warranty, we will provide an appropriate remedy at no cost to you. Depending on the product and nature of the defect, this may include a repair, replacement or refund.

If an identical replacement is unavailable, we may offer a comparable replacement after discussing the available options with you.

Any remedy provided under this voluntary warranty is in addition to the remedies that may be available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warranty claim costs

Silky U covers reasonable return postage costs for approved warranty claims. Where a return is required, we will normally provide a prepaid postage label.

If we ask you to incur a reasonable return expense, please keep the receipt. We will reimburse the expense if the product is confirmed to have a covered defect.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These consumer-guarantee rights may continue after the Silky U warranty period has ended.
