Silky U Story
We're Tatiana and Joseph. We live in Black Rock, Melbourne and enjoy our coastal walks, a good book by the fire, a nice glass of Pinot, but most of all, we love each other's company.
In 2021, we decided to found Silky U, but it wasn't born as a business idea.
It began with a very real problem — one that played out every night in our bedroom.
Like many couples, we sleep differently. One of us runs hot, the other needs warmth to feel comfortable. We tried everything: different quilts, layering, separate blankets, “compromise” options that promised the best of both worlds.
Nothing truly worked. Sleep became broken. Mornings became harder. And slowly, something as simple as rest began to affect how we felt day to day.
We weren't obsessed with bedding. We weren't chasing luxury.
We just wanted to sleep well — together.
That search led us to a silk quilt.
At first, we were sceptical. Silk sounded indulgent, maybe even impractical. But the first night changed everything. The temperature regulation was immediate. No overheating. No chill. Just calm, balanced comfort. Night after night, the difference became undeniable — deeper sleep, fewer disruptions, better mornings.
That quilt didn't just improve our sleep.
It restored harmony.
As we learned more, we discovered that not all silk bedding is created equal. Many products cut corners — lower-grade silk, synthetic blends, poor craftsmanship — all wrapped in "luxury" language. We knew we could do better.
So we decided to create the bedding we couldn't find.
Silky U was born from that decision: to offer genuinely high-quality silk bedding that performs beautifully, lasts for years, and is priced fairly.
We use only the finest long-strand Mulberry silk, carefully crafted for breathability, durability, and comfort across seasons. Every detail matters — from the fill and stitching to the outer shell and packaging.
Today, we still sleep under our own products. Even after staying in some of the world's best hotels, we notice the difference the moment we come home.
Silky U remains a small, family-run business. We don't chase trends or mass production. We focus on quality, honesty, and the simple belief that great sleep changes everything.
